Business Development Manager in Germany

For our client, a manufacturer of bottle closures, we are looking a person for a position: Business Development Manager in Germany

Your responsibilities

– Presentation of the company and its offer on the German market
– Building a customer database on the German market (customers from the industry: water and beverages, spirits),
– Direct contact with customers (sales meetings): preparation and negotiation of the offer, launch and ongoing communication with the customer in the implementation of the process,
– Ongoing cooperation with the Planning Department in the field of order processing and periodic sales visits to customers,
– Participation in fairs and other industry meetings, e.g. conferences,
– Participation in line tests/complaints,
– Monitoring receivables/supporting payment collection as needed,
– Reporting – 1 x week of market activities and databases,
– Ability to prepare an annual forecast (revision 1x quarter), sales plan (1x month) and implement monthly plans (revision 1x week) + update the forecast for a period of 3 months (1x month).

Division of working time:
– 80% Sales meetings – field work
– 20% Remote work – reporting, market mapping, arranging meetings


– Experience in the B2B industry – at least 2 years in a similar industry (glass packaging, cardboard packaging, foil/stretch manufacturer, industries related to alcohol, beverages),
– Fluent knowledge of German, spoken and written,
– Experience in an independent position related to market building and reporting/cooperation with the headquarters – contact with such activities allowing for taking and implementing activities according to the scope of duties as above,
– Availability for business trips, participation in fairs and other market activities,
– Independence and the ability to plan activities in time and their successive implementation
– Analytical thinking enabling the collection of data on the potential of a given geographic market and / or industry,
– Ease of establishing contact and openness,
– Ability to listen/determine customer needs but also market opportunities/niches to be exploited,
– Ability to negotiate but remain assertive,
– Ability to substantive reporting – knowledge of the office suite

Recruitment stages:

1. Collection of CVs and contact with selected candidates.
2. Recruitment interview (remote) with an LHH RS Consultant.
3. First online meeting with the client.
4. Direct meeting in Germany – final stage.
